"...they feed on blood."
Just have them read a Watchtower article against consuming whole blood.
the wife and i here lately have received little unknown bug bites, on our legs and arms.. so today in my senior class the instructor ask if anyone received any unknown bug bite.. there were 75% that raised there hand and everyone ask, what the hell is it.. these insects are ferocious biters.
they don't spread any diseases, but they will keep you indoors.. they are called valley blacks gnats, they feed on blood.
in my research i found they are active in.

does anyone remember this classic quote from a society publication??.
i remember it has been quoted many times, but i cant find the reference.. if this comment is to be taken literally, it condemns the organization anytime there has been a complete changes in teachings and doctrine!
.
just had the co visit tonight.
i asked him if he had heard about the worldwide halt of construction besides warwick and to my surprise he said he heard the same thing.
then he went on and add that also some branches are closing and some bethelites going into pioneering but, "all because of the preaching work now.
do any of you ex-jw's still believe in god?
even with the new rebranding/softening of this religion, i still don't see how people can believe in him.
the god of the old testimate is an angry murderer who approved rapes and slavery and killed thousands of men, women and children.
Viviane: "Nope, no one so far has anything of value to say."
I really haven't read the last dozen or so comments on this thread nor did I see the whole video posted above but I thought I'd throw my two cents in.
I believe that the Universe is full of order and disorder but not intelligence nor, by my definition, "design". Why would a creator god smash two galaxies together with the horrific results that occur? It makes sense when you use non-anthropomorphic terms. It's spontaneous order and disorder that makes our Universe.

say, a woman is going in for colon surgery, it is already known by most of her doctors she has several pychiatric illnesses, along with more than several medications for it, it's also obvious she's a bit slow and not very good at understanding concepts, she's a jw baptized, her husband is baptized, used to be a elder and is no longer practicing, the wife refuses blood, but the husband seems anxious, unnerved about this, he realizes something isn't right about the wt, but can't quite break free, he doesn't want her to die if she need something like blood, but can't convince the wife, the rest of her family will be there, all ex witnesses including her children and mother who was a witness, she signs the form refusing blood.
during surgery the worst happens, she starts bleeding, it doesn't stop, it gets bad enough even volume expanders won't keep her barely alive.
will the surgeon just let her die without alert the family what is happening and maybe keep his oath to protect life and perhaps allow a chance at her husband to make a decision to allow a transfusion, or will he just let her die as her deluded wishes dictate and tell the family afterwards?
was just out shopping and came across two middle aged female witnesses with their magazine trolley..
i approached them and they were all glee and smiles and ready to hand me a couple of magazines.
one moment ladies i have just a couple of questions..
I'm beginning to think that this trolley witnessing is a good thing after all. It gives us a better opportunity to catch a witness out there than merely waiting for them to come to our door.
If there are enough encounters of this kind then trolley witnessing might become a fearful thing for those who melt at the mere mention of "apostates".

so i just met with an old 'friend' who wanted a 'chat' after no contact for the best part of 4 years.
she obviously heard about the wonderful news of my abrupt fade :d. i guess i wanted to prove to myself that any future meet ups/chats with jw's would be pointless.
needless to say i proved myself right.
lurkernomore, yes the Watchtower did issue a mock apology for it's 1975 debacle in 1980. That's probably what your friend is thinking about though she got the date wrong.
They said that they were responsible for some of the high expectations for that year. That so called admission still put the blame on the rank and file claiming that they - the Governing Body - did not dampen these expectations (as if those expectations originated from the rank and file in the first place).
"6 In its issue of July 15, 1976, The Watchtower, commenting on the inadvisability of setting our sights on a certain date, stated: "If anyone has been disappointed through not following this line of thought, he should now concentrate on adjusting his viewpoint, seeing that it was not the word of God that failed or deceived him and brought disappointment, but that his own understanding was based on wrong premises." In saying "anyone," The Watchtower included all disappointed ones of Jehovah's Witnesses, hence including persons having to do with the publication of the information that contributed to the buildup of hopes centered on that date." Watchtower March 15, 1980
I remember reading this Watchtower and later, during my Appeal Committee for disfellowshipping, the elders made reference to it.
